Important Wedding Details

Pick your own glassware

In true Kimmy fashion, we want our wedding to be (mostly) zero waste! To do this, we've thrifted over 200 cool and fun glasses for your drinks for the evening. When you arrive at 4pm, you will first find your seat and then you'll make your way to our glass display to select your personal glass for the evening!

There are all types of glasses - small, large, wine, cocktail, beer, etc. Select any glass type you want! We will have sharpies and name tags so you can write your name on your glass to keep track of it throughout the evening.

Here's how the glasses will work:

1. There will be separate water glasses provided during dinner and dancing. But you are welcome to use your glass for water throughout the evening.

2. The glass you select is yours for the evening! If you lose or break it the bar will give you a plastic cup for your drink. We'd like to avoid this so try and keep track of your glass all evening.

3. No matter the glass you select, you can have any drink you'd like in it. (For example, if you select a wine glass but want a cocktail, have no fear! The bar will put a cocktail in your wine glass).

4. At the end of the night, you can take your glass home as a souvenir or you can leave it in the drop off area and we will re-donate it!

Attire & What to Bring

Sunlight is at ~8,000 feet elevation in the mountains. This means that weather is variable! In addition the ceremony is in a grassy meadow.

If the weather is nice and sunny the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing will happen outside. If it rains, we will move the cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing indoors.

Given the weather and terrain variables, we wanted to provide a few recommendations for things to bring and wear to make sure everyone is comfortable all evening!

1. For those of you planning to wear heels, the staircase from the parking lot to the lodge has small holes in it. The ceremony is also going to be held in a grassy meadow. Both of these may prove hazardous depending on the shoe you wear. We recommend you wear non-stiletto heels!

2. Since we will be outside most of the evening, we recommend checking the weather and bringing a jacket (either rain or warm). You will be able to stash your jacket in the lodge. We want you to be comfortable, so if you get cold, make sure you come prepared!

3. Bring sunnies! It's the longest day of the year and we hope there will be lots of sun!

Shuttle Information

We plan to have shuttles to pick guests up in Glenwood Springs and drop them back off at the end of the night. When you RSVP, please indicate if you think you will need a shuttle to bring you to and from the venue so we can get an accurate head count.

The shuttle schedule will be posted here when we have it!

Children Under 10

We know many of our guests have small children. While we love your kiddos dearly, please note that children under 10 are not invited to join for the wedding festivities.

We welcome all children and babies to join us on Saturday morning for breakfast if you would like to bring them along.

What is Mountain Formal?

We've been asked, so here's your answer! "Mountain formal" means a blend of elegance and mountain-inspired touches. Take your typical "formal" attire, and relax it to be both practical (for the mountain environment) and to match the beauty we'll be surrounded by. Bolo ties, hats, boots, and other "mountain west" attire also fits this theme.
